How do I open my combination hard case for the first time?
The default combination for all of our products is 000. To open, make sure the dials are centered on 000 and slide the square button away from the numbers. Detailed lock instructions can be found inside the box or online at the Combination Lock Support Page.
Can I still open my box if the plastic security tab is missing?
Yes. The plastic safety tab is only there to keep the combination dials at the default code (000) during shipping. Removing or cutting it does not affect your ability to set a new combination. If your box arrived without a tab and 000 does not open it, please contact support@btr-llc.com with your order details.
My box is not opening on the correct combination. What can I do?
First, try the default code 000 to see if that releases the lock. If that fails, test combinations that are similar to your code (e.g., if you set it to 444, test 445, 443, etc.) as dials can sometimes shift slightly during configuration. You can also try sliding the square button with a bit more force; the lock is highly durable. (As these are security products, we do not have universal reset codes. This can be done by wedging a tool such as a flathead screwdriver between the lock and the box to pull the lock off.)
Is there a factory reset code for combination locks?
No. To ensure the safety of your stored items, there is no master override code. Once changed from 000 to a custom code, only that code can open the box. Vaultz is not responsible for forgotten combinations.
The latch is stuck in the open position. Can this be fixed?
Yes. The latch can only be depressed into the closed position when the dials are set to your correct combination. For example, if your code is 444, you must center the dials on 444 before the latch will shut. Once closed, scramble the numbers to lock it.
What are your hard cases made of?
All Vaultz cases are constructed with an MDF (medium-density fiberboard) wood core wrapped in a durable PP (Polypropylene) laminate. Our laminate is fully Prop 65 approved and is a safe, non-toxic alternative to standard vinyl/PVC. The case is finished with chrome-reinforced corners and metal rails for superior durability.
